Award presentation

On Monday 20 October 2025, the jury selected photographer Vincent Jendly as the award winner. In One Millimeter of Black Dirt and a Veil of Dead Cows, Jendly turns his attention to the inner workings of the industrial world, capturing them with a stark, uncompromising eye. His images reveal an Anthropocene landscape in which humanity survives only behind glass, confronted by the machines it has created.

Published by André Frère Éditions, the book was recognised for the intensity of its sensory experience, in which the aesthetics of black and white reach their fullest expression. Through the political resonance of its subject matter and the quality of its printing, the book offers a distinctive and profoundly contemporary vision of the industrial world.
