France PhotoBook, an association of leading French publishers of photography books, is delighted to announce the fourth edition of the Booksellers’ Photography book prize !
Following the success of the three past edition in 2023, 2024 and 2025, this fourth edition brings together a jury of 15 booksellers from all over France and Belgique, to choose a winning book from among twenty-four titles published during the year 2025-2026 by member publishers.
The €3,000 prize money will go to the photographer. The publisher of the winning book also receives assistance in promoting the work, by organizing meetings in bookshops.
The prize is awarded with the support of the French Ministry of Culture, the Académie des Beaux-Arts, Pollen Diffusion and Saveca-Art & Paper.
The jury for this fourth edition is chaired by writer Maylis de Kerangal.

For this fourth edition, the jury has chosen to honor photographer Hélène David. Much like the territory it explores, the book *Buru Beltza* (Black Heads)—published by sun/sun—is rooted in a reality underpinned by the imagination; it reveals the connections between the visible and invisible worlds, between what lies buried and what rests on the surface.
The jury praised the book as precise and well-balanced—a work deeply anchored in a specific territory, bringing it into view and giving it a voice. They commended the aesthetic quality of the photographs, the beauty of the compositions, and the interplay between the images and the text. The jury also highlighted the boldness and originality of the book’s design, noting the seamless alignment between content and form—the result of a collaborative editorial process involving Hélène David, Céline Pévrier of the publishing house sun/sun, and the graphic design studio Typical.
Furthermore, the jury lauded the richness of the selection, which showcases the creativity and diversity found in contemporary photobooks—ranging from documentary works to more poetic approaches, each exploring different ways of integrating text.
