Ils suivent les traces de la tribu du chef Big Foot, dont les 300 membres, principalement des femmes et des enfants, furent massacr\\u00e9s \\u00e0 Wounded Knee le 29 d\\u00e9cembre 1890.<\/p><p>\\u00c0 l\\u2019heure actuelle, les Lakotas vivent au sein de r\\u00e9serves dans des conditions plus que pr\\u00e9caires, maintenus en d\\u00e9pendance par le gouvernement am\\u00e9ricain. Parqu\\u00e9s sur un territoire ingrat au beau milieu d\\u2019une des plus grosses puissances mondiales, leur niveau de vie est comparable \\u00e0 celui du tiers-monde. Violence, drogue, alcool, ch\\u00f4mage, l\\u2019esp\\u00e9rance de vie des hommes dans les r\\u00e9serves est de 45 ans. En 2024, certaines familles n\\u2019ont toujours pas de sanitaires ni d\\u2019acc\\u00e8s \\u00e0 l\\u2019eau courante.<\/p><p>Et c\\u2019est exactement ce que les m\\u00e9dias internationaux montrent habituellement des r\\u00e9serves indiennes aux \\u00c9tats-Unis, une caricature de la pauvret\\u00e9. Alors que leur pouvoir de r\\u00e9silience est immense, la puissance de leur spiritualit\\u00e9 intacte, et leur fiert\\u00e9 invaincue ; un peuple qui a subi les pires abominations de l\\u2019histoire mais qui continue \\u00e0 vivre et aller de l\\u2019avant, solidaire et fort.<\/p><p>C\\u2019est ce que cette s\\u00e9rie tente de montrer par le biais de cette chevauch\\u00e9e (Omaka Tokatakiya \/ Future Generations Ride) o\\u00f9, pendant deux semaines, les anciens s\\u2019occupent des jeunes, les sortent de leur quotidien, leur apprennent \\u00e0 monter \\u00e0 cheval, \\u00e0 \\u00eatre bienveillants envers eux, mais leur font \\u00e9galement c\\u00f4toyer l\\u2019\\u00e2me et l\\u2019histoire de leur nation.
