propos du livre<\/h2><p>Dans cette nouvelle s\\u00e9rie, Kazuo Kita\\u00ef revisite ses propres archives photographiques : des visages, des corps en tension, des foules en marche, des fragments de r\\u00e9sistance. Connu pour avoir document\\u00e9 les mouvements de protestation au Japon dans les ann\\u00e9es 1960, il choisit aujourd\\u2019hui de r\\u00e9activer ces images \\u00e0 travers un geste radical.<\/p><p>En d\\u00e9chirant ses tirages argentiques puis en les recouvrant de peinture, Kita\\u00ef transforme la photographie en mati\\u00e8re premi\\u00e8re. Le documentaire devient abstraction, l\\u2019image un support pour une forme hybride, entre calligraphie et peinture. Ce travail marque une rupture dans sa pratique : il ne s\\u2019agit plus de t\\u00e9moigner, mais de r\\u00e9interpr\\u00e9ter.<\/p><p>Sur ces photographies en noir et blanc apparaissent des hommes casqu\\u00e9s, des ouvriers, des policiers, des \\u00e9tudiants, des rues habit\\u00e9es, des objets en suspens. L\\u2019artiste y appose des couleurs vives et trace les caract\\u00e8res japonais \\u00ab I \\u00bb, \\u00ab RO \\u00bb et \\u00ab HA \\u00bb \\u2013 les premiers sons du syllabaire, \\u00e9quivalents du \\u00ab B.A. BA \\u00bb en alphabet latin.
